Concentrations This program offers three concentrations:

Applied Epidemiology: The curriculum provides systematic training in measuring and studying the distribution, characteristics and causes of disease across demographics. Epidemiology is a fundamental science of public health and is essential in the prevention of rare and chronic diseases, disability and premature death.

Health Services Administration: This concentration offers a combination of public health and health care administration classes that provides you with a multifaceted understanding of the administrative and business aspects of health care. Use the skills learned in the curriculum to pursue leadership roles in both governmental and non-governmental settings.

Health Promotion: The curriculum examines the sociocultural factors that influence health and health behavior. The concentration operates under the philosophy that education, communication and effective implementation of sound health policies and initiatives can improve the quality of life around you. Admission requirements According to the University of Arizona, the following materials are required for admission to the online MPH program:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 3.0 GPA
  • One course in college-level introductory, human or general biology
  • One course in college algebra or a more advanced math course, such as calculus
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Resume or CV
  • Statement of purpose and objectives
  • GRE or MCAT scores:
    • The GRE/MCAT requirement will be waived for all applicants who are:
    • – Applying to the Health Services Administration concentration,
    • – Applying to the Health Promotion concentration with 5+ years of paid public health work experience, or
    • – Applying to any concentration with a doctoral degree from a U.S. institution
    • – GRE or MCAT scores are required for all other applicants.
  • TOEFL or IELTS scores for international applicants
